NERIM Group of Institutions is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and Gauhati University which are premier state Universities established by the Government of Assam in the North Eastern region of the country. The Dibrugarh University was established by the Government of Assam under Dibrugarh University Act passed by the legislative Assembly in the year 1965.The Gauhati University is the first University of North Eastern India established in the year 1948 under Gauhati University Act 1947. Both the Universities have emerged as centers of excellence in Assam and have been playing a dynamic role in spear heading different courses towards the growing field of professionalism in higher education. The Institution has due approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Bar Council of India (BCI), and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for MBA & MCA, BALLB, LLM & B.Ed programmes respectively.

Dibrugarh University is a premier teaching cum affiliating University in the North Eastern Region of the country. This University was established in the year 1965, by the Government of Assam under Dibrugarh University Act. This is a State University and has emerged as a centre of excellence in the upper Assam region, and has been playing a dynamic role in spearheading some very important course of studies in the growing field of professionalism. This University is the first to introduce 5-year integrated courses in Law in the State of Assam. It is situated at Rajabheta, five kilometres to the South of the Dibrugarh town and well connected by road, rails, air and waterways. The University has a vast sprawling campus (550 acres) set in bucolic and idyllic surroundings.

Gauhati University is the oldest and largest University in the North East Region of the Country. It was established by the Govt. of Assam, vide Gauhati University Act 1947 (Assam Act XVI of 1947) in the year 1948. Since inception, Gauhati University has kept its tradition of high and glorified academic achievements. It is a teaching and affiliating University with academic peripheral over almost all the Seven Sister States of North East Region.The University campus is situated at the western fringe of Guwahati, about 15 kilometers from the city centre, and with the mighty Brahmaputra to the North. The University has a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) of education with the option of credit transfer. This is a student friendly system where students would get the opportunity of opting for courses according to their interest and needs. The system is expected to give students a competitive edge in the National and Global Markets. A ten point grading scale is in place so as to standardize the academic system with respect to international benchmarks.
