ABOUT THE COURSE
In today's world understanding individual rights as approved
and bestowed to each and every citizen of this country has become
a matter of essentiality on the pretext of building an ethically
strong society. Legal education in this regard has been truly
instrumental in providing the needed platformto the legal aspirants
in understanding the major role juridical study can play in
the formation of such a society. The law programhelps the students
build a frame work for life and for the subsequent society that
is both ethical and service oriented.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
To develop an understanding of legal principles for the protection
of life and property
To meet the growing requirement inter alia in the field of
Law for dynamism, competitive environment and judicious introspection
towards legal development.
AFFILIATION & APPROVAL
The 2 year full time LLM program is conducted at NERIM Law
College under the prescribed regulations and syllabi of Dibrugarh
University.

The topic for Dissertation will be assigned in the beginning
of the Fourth Semester and the candidates are required to submit
dissertation work by the end of the fourth Semester but before
15 days of End-Semester Examination.
ELIGIBILITY
A candidate to take admission into LL.M. programme must have
50%marks in aggregate inLL.B.-3 years/B.A.,B.Sc., B.Com., BA.
LLB / BBA.LL.B-5 Year Integrated course recognized by University
Grants Commission (UGC) and BCI. However, a relaxation of 5%
in the eligibility criteria shall be admissible to the bona-fide
SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicants of the State of Assam only.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The admission into LL.M. Programme will be made through an
Entrance Test to be conducted by the University/Centre/College.
There will be only one paper for 2-hours for LL.M. Entrance
Test which will comprise of IndianConstitutional Law,CriminalLaw,EnvironmentalLaw,
InternationalLaw, Procedural andEvidenceLaws, Family Laws,LawofTorts,Business
Law, Intellectual Property Law.
REQUIREMENT OF CLASS ROOM ATTENDANCE
Astudent of LLM(2 year full time) programme shall have to attend
minimum 80% of total classes in each paper to be eligible to
appear in each End -Semester examination.
EXAMINATION (AS PER REGULATION OF THE DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY)
A student may be promoted from one semester to the next semester
on completion of End Semester Examination with three consecutive
chances to qualify in each semester. A student has to complete
LL.M programmewithin four years from the date of admission.am.
AWARD OF DEGREE
A Candidate shall be declared as passed the LL.M provided
he/she has passed all the courses of all semesters separately
awarding the degreewith > 65% as 1st class and > 50%-
<65%as 2nd class.
