ABOUT THE COURSE
Trade and commerce has today become the essence
of an economically sound society. Understanding of complicated
trade, principles of accounting, economic theories, micro and
macroeconomics, money and banking system, knowledge about business
and its characteristics and policy involved etc. have become
the need of the hour. The 2 year M.Com course focuses on the
systematic comprehension of the concept of Accountancy, Economics,
Business Statistics, Finance, Banking, Law, Taxation, Marketing,
Management Studies etc. The M.Com course as such provides a
thorough insight of Commerce, Management and Economics of today's
business world that opens up avenues of job prospects as a whole.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
1. To impart the students with the knowledge of the functioning

AFFILIATION &APPROVAL
The 2 year full time M.Com Programme at NERIM
Commerce College is conducted as per the prescribed regulations
and syllabi of Gauhati University.
COURSE STRUCTURE AND SYLLABUS
There will be 20 papers including one dissertation in the M.Com
Course. In each semester there will be five papers of 80 marks
each and there shall be 20 marks for internal assessment. Paper
No.3.15 Dissertation shall be of 100 marks, 75 marks for report
writting and 25 marks for viva-voce.
SPECIALIZATIONS OFFERED
As per Regulation of the Gauhati University for M.Com, a student
shall have to opt dual specialization. A student admitted into
M.Com shall be required to opt for any one of the following

ELIGIBILITY
A student with B.Com Degree from Gauhati University or any
other university recognized by Gauhati University shall be eligible
for admission, provided such student is
B.Com in the 10+2+3 pattern with Major Course in the
Subject.
B.Com in the 10+2+3 pattern with at least 40% marks
in aggregate in General Course.
B.Com with speciality as prescribed by the concerned
university.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Admission to M.Com 1st Semester shall be made strictly on Merit.
Preference will be given to candidates having Major/Honours/Speciality
Course in the concerned subject in order of merit.
REQUIREMENT OF CLASS ROOM ATTENDANCE
A student of M.Com (2 year programme) shall have to attend
minimum 75 % of total classes in each paper tobe eligible to
appear in each semester end examination.
AWARD OF DEGREE
On successful completion of the course,candidates shall be
awarded the Degree of Master of Commerce (M.Com.) by Gauhati
University.
