Students are to abide by the rules &
regulation and ordinances of the University as well as of NERIM
Group of Institutions for better governance and academic improvement
of the institute. Students are to appear in the internal Examinations
as declared by the department from time to time and keep their
regular attendance in the classes for smooth running of the
studies.
i) A student who has less than 80% attendance
shall not be permitted to sit for the End-Semester examination
in the course in which the shortfall exists.
Provided that is shall be open to the University to grant exemption
to a student who has attended a minimum 70% classes but failed
to obtain the prescribed 80% attendance for valid reasons or
recommendation of the Head/ Director/ Coordinator of the Department/
Centre on payment of a prescribed fee (s).
ii) The principal of the college/institute with recommendation
of the Heads of the Departments shall announce the names of
all students who shall not be eligible to appear in the End-Semester
examinations in the various courses due to non-fulfillment of
the criteria of internal assessment and attendance, and send
a copy of the same to the University. In such case, the student
shall have to re-enroll in the relevant course (s) with the
next batch.
The institute follows the prescribed
Reservation Rules related to admission in various courses as
laid down by the Govt. of Assam.
Communication
to Students

All official communication
to the students shall be made through the Notice Board and Circulars.
The students are hereby advised to go through the Notice Board
everyday on a habitual basis. They may also consult the Academic
Counsellor for such information as and when required.
General
Information & Rules

1. No student shall be admitted into
any Programme if he/she is found to have indulged in activities
detrimental to academic interest.
2. No student shall be admitted to more than one course in the
same shift.
3. A student who is found to violate College rules shall be
liable to expulsion.
4. If a student's involvement in any incident of ragging comes
to the notice of the authority, such a student would be given
liberty to explain, and if his/her explanation is not found
satisfactory, that student will be expelled from the College.
5. A student who is found to have indulged in consumption of
drugs or intoxicating drinks, gambling and often immoral activities
shall be liable to expulsion.
6. Students admitted into a Programme is required to participate
in instructions (Lectures, tutorials, seminars and other academic
activities) as prescribed in the relevant Regulations and shall
be expected to participate in the Co-curricular and Extra Curricular
activities organized by the College. They are expected to appear
at the examination due at the end of the course of studies.
Students who fail to do so without assigning sufficient reasons
to the satisfaction of the competent authority shall not be
permitted to continue with their studies in the following year.
7. Attendance is compulsory. To be eligible to sit for the examination
as a regular candidate, the students should have at least 80%
of the attendance of lectures as prescribed in the concerned
Regulations.
8. Each Academic session will run as per the Academic Calendar.
9. Fee is to be paid for admission by the candidates, if selected,
on the date as notified other-wise seats will get cancelled
and filled up by candidates next in the list.
10. Admission will be granted in accordance with the rules and
regulations of concerned University.
11. The students shall have to comply with the Regulations for
the course, Rules and Orders as may be prescribed by the University
& College authority from time to time.
Ragging of students
admitted to the Institute is totally banned. Any violation of
this by the students will be dealt with severely.
